Keeping it Simple & Spiritual

Welcome to the new Akashic Bec Blogspace! This is a safe space to read, share and ponder.

Being a modern day spiritual practitioner can be extremely rewarding. Fulfilling. And at times, challenging. Trying to balance work and home life is a juggling act for anyone who’s not working in this space but this type of work comes with an added layer. Because it’s not just a job - it’s a calling. It requires a level of deep devotion. A solid practice. Energetic hyenine. Mental, emotional, physical and spiritual balance. All while trying to function “normally” in an increasingly chaotic energetic landscape. Because what do you mean I have to pay bills too? I mean, it can be done. However, I have a theory that’s why life in 2026 is a dumpster fire for so many - we know in our soul we are meant to live differently. We know we are more than working to live, living to work, pay bills, be distracted and die. We are tapping into a frequency/reality/current/whatever you want to call it that requires us to be who we authentically are at the core of our being. Not slaves to a system that wants us to feed the machine. Narcissistic abuse masquerading as productivity. I digress.

I work with many people of all backgrounds, but mostly women who are wives, mothers, caregivers, business owners and more. Women who are starting over with no real plan. Who are needing support, encouragement, stability. They are trying to find their way back to their spiritual selves but it seems like there’s no time, energy, or safe space to do it in. I’m going to let everyone reading this in on a little secret - it does not happen all at once. It’s small, consistent efforts. It’s finding the magic in the ordinary, everyday moments. It’s listening to your intuition and learning to trust the voice within yourself. It’s cultivating an expansive mindset and centeredness by making one decision everyday towards the life you crave. Sometimes, making a drastic change is the answer - doing something completely revolutionary, but that too will bring you back to making those daily choices to maintain what you’re now establishing. It’s also coming back to that higher octave - there are going to be moments that push us to the limit. Where it’s hard to believe the best. But the moment you get your wits about you, you get back on the horse. You say to yourself, “its a bad day, not a bad life” and keep going. Your dreams are still waiting for you. They aren’t going anywhere.

It’s also about remembering we are not our thoughts and feelings. Meditation expert David J said it best - “You are the sky. Emotions are the weather. So a storm cloud passes through. You’re the sky! Let it blow on through.” Remembering that we are everything and nothing, we are god and we are man, we are a drop in the ocean and the sea in its entirety. The macrocosm and the microcosm. And this life is our chance to experience it.

Here are a few simple everyday ways I recommend to help you on your spiritual journey and care for your spirit:

  • Connecting with Nature. Nature is free, it helps us reset our nervous system, and it lowers our blood pressure. Forest bathing, walking in the park, earthing, wind cleansing and sitting by or swimming in a natural body of water reminds us of our connection to the earth and clears our energetic body without any fancy ceremony. Drinking herbal teas and adding herbs or flowers to a spiritual bath can help nourish/detox your body and make you feel balanced.

  • Micro- meditations. Some believe that meditating for many hours is how you achieve enlightenment. But living in our modern world, many of us don’t have time for long stretches. We simply are unable to carve out that time due to demands and responsibilities. So in those in between moments, even if it’s just for 2 minutes, get quiet and go within. I call them micro-meditations. Drawn your attention inward for that duration of time.

  • Take a Silent Day. If you cannot get away from the noise, don’t contribute to it. Have days where you keep speaking to a minimum or don’t speak at all. This gives us an energetic reset - in a world full of information constantly coming at us, silence feels rebellious. It can open up your mind, you heart, and energetically.

  • Mindful Movement. Practices like yoga, qi gong, tai chi, even simple stretching, etc help rebalance and restore your life force energy. When I have busy days, I like to do micro practices, where I pick a couple of sequences that feel right to do and do that for a few minutes, then carry on about my day.

  • Brain dumps. Write down, type, or voice record your thoughts. Get it out of your brain and free up some room then revisit later. You’d be surprised at the amount of great ideas you can come up with when you don’t overthink and just make notation. This can also be good for when you are upset over something and want to say what you’re feeling without judgment.

As I say, these are incredibly simple ideas and you should always do what feels best for you! See you on the next post!
